On Tuesday March 10th, Groupe ISCAE General Director, Ms. Nada BIAZ, participated in a meeting organized by the CFA (Club of Female Administrators) at the Casablanca Stock Exchange, the meeting was held at the occasion of the international event “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality”.
Groupe ISCAE as a business school and its General Director are considering diversity as one of core values, and are, therefore, doubly concerned by the subject: On the one hand, because the battle of the CFA is not only limited to the promotion of female administrators, it will have also a general impact on the situation of women, giving girls and young women the opportunity to project themselves through role models and improving the representation of women in the highest governance bodies. On the other hand, several studies have highlighted the correlation between gender diversity and business performance. Women are thus a real lever for growth and it is essential to raise the awareness and enhance the importance and impact they can have on boards of directors and supervisory boards. Despite some progress in Morocco in terms of women’s access to senior positions of responsibility, the struggle remains controversial and there is still a long way to go through. In 2012, the year of CFA inception, the female administrators of listed companies represented 7%, it reaches 15% in 2019. As a benchmark, this rate is 43.7% in France and 40% in Norway.
The CFA has currently 62 women members and is chaired by Amina Figuigui, a graduate of the Normal Cycle and the Accounting Expertise Cycle of the ISCAE.
